Thailand Art Biennale Tour - Koh Klang and Thara Park
Thailand Art Biennale brings celebrated contemporary artists from all over the world together in a unique exhibition of Thailand Art Biennale. This combination of paintings, short films, art installations and performance art all around Krabi and Ao Nang. Sign up today for the first art tour offered in southern Thailand!
Krabi is famous for its towering limestone mountains, crystal clear waters and thick green jungles. This becomes the beautiful backdrop and context for this exhibition, named the “Edge of the Wonderland”. This exhibit shows the edge between fantasy and reality, the edge between modern and the ancient, deeply rooted local culture, or the edge between sea and jungle.
Come with us on this journey to discover what the "Edge of the Wonderland" has to offer!
On this part of our Biennale Series, we will explore the installations in Thara Park along the Krabi-River. We travel to Koh Klang in a Biennale-art-piece in the longtail boat “Nagabi Transferry”. This boat is designed by Bangkok artist Yuree Kensaku, and it is amazing to ride along in an actual piece of art.
Koh Klang is a local island divided from Krabi town only by a small band of Mangrove river, but it might as well be light-years away. The local residents still practice and protect the ancient art of Bate-stamping and grow a very special variety of rice. This will give you a deeper view into Thai culture, while you learn about Krabi artists rich heritage.
